In an attack near his ancestral village Jawaharke in district Mansa, Punjab on Sunday, gangsters killed renowned Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, who had joined the Congress before the Punjab elections. More than 30 rounds were fired on the vehicle he was traveling in within 24 hours after Punjab government security was withdrawn.
Sidhu appeared to have sustained over eight bullet injuries and was taken to the Mansa civil hospital where he passed away. He had been on the radar of gangsters for some time. As of yesterday, six people have been detained in connection with the murder. According to Sidhu’s father, the investigation must be conducted by a sitting high court judge, which will assign it to the CBI or NIA.
In addition to these demands, the CM agreed to resolve the problem of officers who leaked letters about the withdrawal of security.
