The security forces killed three LeT militants in an encounter in the Drabgam area of Pulwama, J&K

Three militants were killed in a police encounter on Sunday morning in Jammu and Kashmir. Police in the Kashmir Zone reported late Saturday night that an encounter broke out around 6:55 p.m. in Drabgam, in Pulwama district.

Police are still searching for the man Sunday morning after the encounter lasted for hours.

According to Kashmir Police, all three killed were members of the terror outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT). In his statement, Inspector General of Kashmir Police Vijay Kumar identified one of the militants as Junaid Sheergojri, who was involved in the murder of Martyr Reyaj Ahmad on May 13, 2022. The three #terrorists who were killed are all locals, and are affiliated with LeT. Junaid Sheergojri, involved in the #killing of our colleague #Martyr Reyaz Ahmad on 13/5/22, has been identified as one of the suspects, the Kashmir Police announced on twitter.

The IGP Vijay Kumar said incriminating materials, arms, and ammunition were also recovered from the militants, including two AK 47 rifles and a pistol. The two militants killed were identified as Fazil nazir Bhat and Irfan Ah Malik, both residents of Pulwama.

“Other two terrorists killed in #Pulwama are Fazil Nazir Bhat and Irfan Ah Malik. “We recovered AK47 rifles, pistols, and incriminating materials,” said IGP Kumar.

The police also said that a search is going on in the area and further details about the encounter will follow soon.
