After an eight-day trip to Germany, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has returned to the state. Punjab’s investment was the reason he was in Germany. It was a controversial trip for him, however.
Aam Aadmi Party’s first ever conclave in Delhi was missed by Punjab Chief Minister after the Indian unit of BMW denied that a unit would be set up in Punjab.
Political opponents have claimed Mann was deplaned from Frankfurt Airport due to inebriation on Saturday night, but his party has firmly denied these allegations as frivolous and false.
“Our political opponents’ dirty tricks department is spreading these lies in order to defame our CM. There is no way they can digest the fact that CM Mann is putting in many hours to attract investment to Punjab. According to schedule, the CM will return. The party chief spokeswoman Malwinder Singh Kang said the candidate was to arrive in Delhi on Sunday night.
According to government officials, the CM was unable to board the flight back from Germany due to an urgent health issue.
A consultant in the department and four state cadre IAS officers accompanied Mann. During the Investors Summit in February, they met with potential investors in Germany and invited them to attend.
