Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao expressed his shock after eleven migrant workers from Bihar were killed in a fire godown in secunderabad on wednesday

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao announced an ex gratia of Rs 5 lakh each for the families of the deceased.

The bodies were sent back to Bihar by the Indian government, and Mr. Yadav directed Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar to make arrangements for their return.

WHAT HAPPENED?

A fire broke out at a timber godown in Bhoiguda in Telangana’s Secunderabad at around 4 am on Wednesday. Eleven migrant workers from Bihar were burnt alive while one person survived and is in critical condition. Six fire engines were required to bring the fire under control.

It is suspected that the fire was a result of short-circuiting. This is yet to be confirmed. “We are investigating the matter,” said Station House Officer in Gandhi Nagar, Mohan Rao.

As per sources, a DNA test will be conducted in order to identify the victims.
