When people help themselves, God helps them. Radhika Narula accomplished the adage despite kidney failure and transplantation after securing 977th rank in NEET and admission to Guru Ram Das Medical College, Amritsar.

The fact that she cleared the test for the second time makes her feat noteworthy. Radhika passed the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) in 2020 when she was a student at Cambridge School, Dasuya. In the days following the declaration of the result, she fell ill with a kidney condition.

Her kidneys were both failing, according to the medical investigation. Our daughter was in the hospital when we learned that she had been offered a seat in MBBS, but had to drop it due to her health issues.

After consulting various hospitals in Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, and Delhi, I was told that my daughter would have to either remain on dialysis for the rest of her life or find a kidney donor. The kidney she now has was donated by her mother, Ruchi,” Amit Narula, Radhika’s father, said.

Radhika had been under constant medical supervision since the kidney transplant on September 23, 2021. When she had to appear for the NEET exam in July 2022, she left home for the first time,” Amit said.

In awe of her success, Radhika attributed it completely to her mother, who donated her kidney to give her a second child. By overcoming a life-threatening challenge, she was able to emerge victorious due to her parents’ selfless love and dedication. By working hard and being determined, she achieved this success without coaching.

Radhika’s parents were congratulated on her success on Wednesday by ward councillor Ashu Vaid, Dr Baldev Raj, and others.
