Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori today said that in order to ensure loan worth Rs. 10000 to street vendors in the municipal limits, special camps would be held in the banks on every Saturday.
Participating in a review meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Vini Mahajan, the deputy Commissioner asked officials of various departments to ensure maximum registration of street vendors under Prime Minister Street Vendor’s Atma Nirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANIDHI) scheme.
The deputy commissioner mentioned that as many as 13978 applications have been received under the scheme for loan benefit. He said that all the banks are going to hold special loan mela on every saturday to sanction loans to the eligible beneficiaries. The deputy commissioner called upon all the eligible beneficiaries to approach their banks with their Aadhar cards and other requisite documents spot adding they need to get certificate from the municipal authority, which will be submitted along with their applications.
The deputy Commissioner further directed the banks not to reject any case on the basis of applicant’s cibil score as the government has exempted the eligible street vendor of cibil ratings.
The deputy commissioner asked the officials of local bodies department to launch a special drive to cover all eligible beneficiaries besides taking maximum beneficiaries into these special camps. He asked all officials to accord top priority to this task as any kind of laxity would attract strict action against the erring officials.
Prominent among others present on the occasion included Additional Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal, and Deputy Director Local Bodies Department Darbara Singh.
