Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to meet Punjab singer-politician Sidhu Moose Wala’s family on Tuesday. Tuesday morning, Amarinder Singh Warring, the Punjab Congress chief, met him in Chandigarh.
He visited the Mansa district along with Warring and Partap Singh Bajwa, the state assembly opposition leader.
Earlier this week, Sadhu Singh Dharamsot – a former Punjab minister and a Congress leader – was arrested on corruption charges. Chief minister Bhagwant Mann had issued a warning a month earlier, while the Aam Aadmi Party had attacked the leader earlier as well.
Meanwhile, Gandhi will visit Moose Wala’s family home in their native village of the Mansa district for the first time since the rapper, 28, passed away on May 30. His popularity reached far beyond India to even Canada.

He was killed a day after his security was downgraded, resulting in attacks from the Congress on the Punjab government. Congress has slammed Mann for the move, labeling it a rebuke to VIP culture, and sought an investigation by the federal inquiry agency.
Moose Wala’s family has been raising the same demand. His father met union minister Amit Shah last Saturday.
