At an event here today, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann and AAP’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal inaugurated 400 more Aam Aadmi clinics, bringing the state’s total to 500.
Kejriwal said his Delhi government took five years to open these clinics, while the Punjab government opened them in a mere 10 months “as a result of Modi’s interference”. Asserting that the Centre blocks several social welfare projects in Delhi, he assured the people: “All those projects will be implemented in Punjab.”
According to him, several gangsters who enjoyed political patronage had been “neutralized” and power generation at thermal plants had increased by 83 percent. In order to ensure a healthy and vibrant Punjab, the CM said his government was making concerted efforts. Punjab’s loan debt burden exceeds Rs 3 lakh crore, “without any meaningful development” under previous governments, he said.
According to him, 10,26 lakh people have received free treatment at 100 Aam Aadmi clinics that have been operating since August. Mohalla clinics are now being replicated by governments in southern states. In addition to 41 health packages, about 100 clinical tests were provided free of charge at these clinics, the CM added. The government spends every penny of taxpayers’ money on their wellbeing, he said. Every patient visiting these clinics is being tracked online to help formulate strategies for combating deadly diseases and ensuring research-based diagnosis and treatment.
