The number of dengue cases has doubled in the past three weeks, according to reports. As the state nears its peak, the next 40 days will be crucial.

The Health Department has reported 1,739 confirmed cases so far. Vector-borne diseases have killed four people. The number of cases and deaths reached 800 at the end of August.

A number of districts have been affected, including SAS Nagar, Ropar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Ferozepur, and SBS Nagar.

There were 23,389 cases of dengue last year, and 55 people died from it.
