Tibba police have busted a prostitution den in a house and arrested five persons, including the operator of the den. Among the arrested accused are three girls between the ages of 25 and 30, while the customer has been identified as 30-year-old Amandeep. He is a resident of Tibba Road. Police have also recovered objectionable material from the base. A case has been registered under the Immoral Trafficking Act.
Police Station Chief Ins. Mohammad Jameel said that in the last few days there were constant complaints that prostitution was rampant in a house in Karamsar Colony. The matter was brought to the notice of higher authorities. After completing the legal process, an employee was sent as a customer in plain clothes. As soon as the employee signaled, a raid was carried out and the accused were apprehended in an objectionable condition. Police found a large number of condoms as well as sex-enhancing pills, which were seized. Ins. Jameel said the three girls caught were married. One of the girls is a resident of Officer Colony of Poonia Tower in Sangrur district, the other is from Adarsh Nagar on Chandigarh Road and the third is from the Sahnewal area. All the accused are being produced in court.
Mohammad Jameel said that even before this, the 35-year-old operator of the airport had been arrested several times on charges of prostitution. She had quit her prostitution business in 1971 but has been active in the business for the past few days. This is his own house, which he has kept as a base for prostitution. She has been involved in alcohol smuggling cases. Her husband has passed away.
Police said that the operator of the airport used to charge Rs. 500 to Rs. Sometimes she even invited girls from outside to please the customers.
