In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a Bishnoi organization claims deer are being “dropped” into the Kuno National Park to feed cheetahs recently brought from Namibia, and demands the practice end.
Kuldeep Bishnoi, a BJP leader, also cited “reports” that deer were being fed to cheetahs in a tweet.
In light of the threat of extinction of the deer species in Rajasthan and the sentiments of the Bishnoi society, I request that the central government investigate the matter. In a tweet in Hindi, he said that if the information was true, it should be stopped immediately.
Generally, the community reveres wildlife, including blackbucks.
As it works hard to protect the specie from all the threats and dangers, Akhil Bhartiya Bishnoi Mahasabha declared its pain after finding out about the practice.
Moreover, the report questioned why the government brought extinct cheetas into India but ignores the country’s wildlife species that are on the verge of extinction.
