Between December 20-21, the BSF shot down a drone and confiscated 4.3 kg of contraband at the international border in Amritsar sector. After jawans opened fire on suspected smugglers in Fazilka sector, 25 packets were seized.
During search operations during the day, BSF jawans seized 4.3-kg of narcotics near the Daoke border outpost in Amritsar. Heroin is suspected to be contained in the yellow tape-wrapped packets.
At 7.20 pm yesterday, a drone entered India from Pakistan. As 144 Battalion personnel took anti-drone measures, it hovered for a few minutes.
A fallen drone was spotted 20 metres inside Pakistan’s territory opposite the Bharopal border outpost early in the morning. After that, search operations were launched.
During the wee hours of the second incident, jawans observed suspicious movement of smugglers near Gatti Ajaib Singh village in Fazilka district on both sides of the border fencing. In dense fog, BSF troops fired at Pakistani smugglers, who fled. Police were notified and the area was cordoned off.
The jawans recovered 25 packets of contraband wrapped in yellow tape along with a 12-foot PVC pipe and a shawl during search operations.
