According to the Directorate of Education, all Delhi government schools will be closed on December 3 in preparation for the municipal elections.
On December 4, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections will be held.
In a circular, the Directorate of Education (DoE) informed all heads of government schools that December 3 (Saturday) is a holiday in schools due to polling preparations for Delhi MCD elections 2022.
This information should be disseminated to students, staff members, SMC members and parents by the heads of schools.
On December 3 and December 5, all MCD schools will be closed.
According to the MCD, due to the long hours on election duty, the day after the polling day has also been designated as “period on election duty”.
As almost 90 percent of school staff have been deployed for election duty, all MCD schools are directed to close on December 5.
According to the notice and a senior MCD official, the available teachers will conduct online classes on December 5.
For the civic elections in Delhi, 13,638 polling stations have been set up by the State Election Commission.
