Earlier today, the Ropar police claimed to have arrested Jaggu Bhagwanpuria’s accomplice. Hoshiarpur-based Vishal Verma, alias Shalu, has been identified as the accused. A total of nine pistols and 20 cartridges were seized from him.

According to Ropar SSP Vivek Sheel Soni, Verma is planning something big. According to him, Bhagwanpuria’s gang smuggled weapons and drugs on a large scale in the state.

CIA in-charge Inspector Satnam Singh was arrested near the Krishi Vigyan Kendra on the Ropar bypass by a police team, including SP (Investigation) Manvinderbir Singh, DSP (Investigation) Talwinder Singh and SP (Investigation) Manvinderbir Singh.

There will be a court appearance and a police remand will be obtained for the accused. Further revelations are expected,” he said.

In the meantime, the Faridkot police have arrested three people and seized three illegal weapons. Balraj Singh of Golewala village and Jasbir Singh and Jashandeep Singh of Dhimanwali village are the accused.

Harjit Singh, Faridkot SSP, said Jasbir confessed to snatching a .12 bore gun from a person in Baghapurana area of Moga district.
