Mohali RPG attack suspect nabbed by Maharashtra ATS, Punjab Police, and Central agencies on Thursday.

During the May 9 attack, Charat Singh conducted a reconnaissance and provided logistical support as well as an AK-47 rifle and RPGs.

Punjab DGP tweeted that Charat Singh is a key operative and associate of Canada-based BKI terrorist Lakhbir Singh Landa.

It was eight years after Charat Singh’s conviction for murder that he was granted a 56-day parole to live in Mehdipur village in Khem Karan, 3 km from the border with Pakistan.

A Mohali court filed the chargesheet for the RPG attack two days ago.

Seven of the 13 accused are charged in the 272-page chargesheet based on the forensic report and technical evidence.

The arrested are Nishant Singh from Bhikhiwind, Jagdeep Singh Kang from Sector 85 in Mohali, Kanwarjit Singh, alias Kanwar Bath, from Gumtala in Amritsar, Baljinder Singh, alias Rambo, from Patti, Baljit Kaur, alias Sukhi, from Kot Khalsa, Anant Deep Singh, alias Sonu, from Guru Nanak Colony, and Lovepreet Singh, alias Vicky, from Amritsar.

In addition to Sections 307, 212, 216, 120-B of the IPC, the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, the Arms Act and the Explosives Act, a case was registered against the accused at the Sohana police station on May 9.
