He fled after allegedly stealing Rs 17 lakh from his employer in Sakinaka
An arrest has been made in Banda UP An official with the police said on Monday.
According to him, Tulsidas Devendra Kumar Patel, a driver, stole money meant for paying salaries and a case was filed against him on August 1.
“We formed a team in Surat and learned that Patel was in Banda in Uttar Pradesh. We nabbed him as he was about to flee. We have recovered Rs 16.50 lakh from Patel,” the official said. An official at the Sakinaka police station said Patel has been charged with several crimes, including theft by clerk or servant under section 381 of the Indian Penal Code.
