Man arrested for duping people with job offers by Mumbai Crime Branch

ONGC, RBI, and other prestigious institutions were duping youngsters by promising jobs at Unit 12 of Mumbai’s Crime Branch.

The officers reported receiving a tip-off that the accused was staying at a guest house at Grant Road, allegedly involved in a cheating case at Dadar and Aarey Sub police station.

As a result of a raid on the guest house, the accused, identified as Sandeep Raut (37), was arrested.

In the premises, we found 12 ID cards with 12 different people’s names, 5 appointment letters, blank stamp papers, rubber seals and stamps, and notary papers that he used to provide appointment letters to the victims.

Investigations have revealed Raut had cases in several districts of Maharashtra in which he charged several people lakhs of rupees. Vilas Bhosle, a senior inspector with the Crime Branch, said the accused was arrested and handed over to the Dadar Police.
