Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia claimed Satyendar Jain was undergoing physiotherapy for a spine injury while in Tihar jail and accused the BJP of leaking the videos.
He said Jain, who is in judicial custody in a money laundering case, had fallen down in jail as a result of cheap theatrics used by the saffron party.
Sisodia claimed that Jain had been injured to his spine and had undergone two surgeries. His doctor had recommended physiotherapy when he was discharged, and the videos show him receiving physiotherapy.
On social media, videos allegedly showing Jain (58) getting a foot massage in Tihar Jail have gone viral. In the video, a white T-shirted man can be seen massaging the legs of the AAP leader as he reads documents.
Sisodia said the BJP was poking fun at Jain’s illness by filing a false case against his colleague.
They (BJP) are losing the MCD and Gujarat polls and that’s why they are resorting to such cheap tactics. They should fight the MCD polls on issues, he added.
Despite the BJP’s best efforts, AAP’s senior leader is confident that his party will emerge victorious.
As a result, the court instructed the Enforcement Directorate (ED) not to leak the video.
According to Sisodia, leaking the video would violate the court’s direction.
AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal’s ‘silence’ on the videos was questioned by the BJP.
Gaurav Bhatia, BJP spokesperson, said Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party has become the ‘Spa and Massage Party’ based on the videos.
A Tihar jail superintendent was suspended earlier this week over allegations that he provided special treatment to Jain prisoners.
Jain was allegedly receiving special treatment at Tihar jail, according to the ED.
