KV 47 Old Students Association (KV47OSA), a registered Association belonging to the Alumni of the students studied in the Kendriya Vidyalaya, Sector 47-C, Chandigarh celebrated its 9th Reunion-cum-Alumni Meet in the premises of the school on 11th February, 2023. Sh. Sanjeet Kumar Sagar, Present Principal of the School was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Ms. Sonika, Hindi Teacher extended the required support to the Managing Committee of the Association to organize the occasion.
The Association made great efforts in calling many ex-teachers, who have retired and were more than willing to come. More than 250 people celebrated the event, comprising of around 20 ex-teachers, all present teachers of Secondary Classes, all present students of 12th class. The Reunion-cum-Alumni Meet was efficiently conducted by Ms Sneh Lata, Vice President of the Association. Mr. Gurpreet and Mr. Madhur Bain Singh also co-ordinated in between.
It was an ambience full of emotions, where the ex-teachers were thrilled to come back to school, see their students well-established in their life, students appreciating that there is someone who thought of them in organizing such activity. It was in some way a great gesture from the KV47OSA wherein they considered it as a Farewell Party. The Principal was overwhelmed to see that alumni of Kendriya Vidyalaya comprising of successful businessmen, bureaucrat, Defence Personnel, Doctors, Teachers, Administrators, Professionals etc. etc. are contributing towards the development and growth of the society. The ex-teachers were so emotional to see their students and were overwhelmed with joy to see their teachings have resulted in such a successful alumnus.
The occasion saw sharing of experience of teachers, alumni, students and also witnessed the cultural programme and fun activities. The programme which was initially planned for 3 hours extended upto 5 hours. The programme ended with thanks giving and thereafter high tea. The teachers appreciated the efforts made by the Association and the Association assured the participants that next year they will gather more ex-teachers and the Reunion-cum-Alumni meet will be grander than this one.
The Association placed on record the contribution of the President of the Association, Ms. Neha Kalra. Mr. Amit Puri, Sr Vice President, Ms. Snehlata, Vice President, Mr. Madhur Bain Singh, General Secretary, Mr. Gurpreet Katwal, Treasurer alongwith other members of the Association, Mr. Krishan Kant and Mr. Harpreet Singh, expressed their thanks to the teachers and management of the school especially Sh. Sanjeet Kumar Sagar, Principal and Ms. Sonika, Hindi Teacher.
The Association also placed on record the efforts of initial and founder members Mr. Dinesh Kundu, Mr. Khushwant Singh, Mr. Ramneesh, Mr. Harjot Singh, Ms Sheena Trehan, Mr. Dashmeet, Mr. Rahul Sehgal, Mr. Rajesh Oberoi, Mr. Mayank Bansal and many more, most of them were also present in the Reunion.
The Association appreciated the special efforts made by Mr. Dinesh Kundu and Mr. Praveen Pandey, without whom the event would not have been successful.
The Association also mentioned that there are many alumni who has made KV 47 proud and one such name is Air Chief Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadoria, PVSM, AVSM, VM, ADC remained Chief of the Air Staff for 2019-2021 and whole of the gathering applauded the success of their alumni. The whole atmosphere in the school was so rejuvenating and it was acknowledged that never in the past such a gesture has been extended by any alumnus.
