As part of the first phase of the New Year’s Eve campaign, Prime Minister Narendra Modi carried out a video conferencing exercise to announce the start of the “Rozgar Mela” recruitment drive of up to 10 lakh personnel.

Nearly 20,000 people from across the country received appointment letters from fifty Union Ministers.

The appointment letters were handed over by Shipping and Waterways Minister Sarbananda Sonowal in Assam’s Guwahati.

A new appointee said to reporters, “We are thankful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the recruitment opportunities and for the encouragement. We are looking forward to serving the nation.”

After Prime Minister Modi launched the Rozgar Mela recruitment drive in Bhopal, Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia presented appointment letters to appointees.

“It feels great to receive our offer letter before Diwali, we’ve been waiting a long time.” said Chanchal and Ayush.

The Rozgar Mela has an important role to play in ensuring that the Prime Minister continues to provide job opportunities for youth and do what is in the best interest of citizens. All ministries and departments are working in Mission Mode to fill existing vacancies against sanctioned posts in accordance with the Prime Minister’s instructions.

At the Rozgar Mela, PM Modi said, “Today is an important day for the youth of India. The campaign of employment and self-employment has been going on in the country for the last eight years, and today another link is being added to it, namely the employment fair… Currently, the central government is issuing appointment letters to 75, 000 youth. Many lakhs have already been given appointment letters in the last eight years.”

Indian government will distribute lakhs of appointment letters in a similar manner in the coming months. I am glad that the NDA governments in states, the BJP-ruled states, and the centrally-run territories will organize ‘rozgar melas’. PM Modi said that thousands of youths would receive appointment letters soon in Jammu & Kashmir, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman Diu, and Andaman Nicobar.
