In the month following the murder of Shraddha Walkar, her father Vikas Walkar said that the murderer Aftab Poonawalla should also be hanged.
Furthermore, he demanded that the Poonawalla family be thoroughly investigated.
A proper investigation should be conducted, and Walkar should be hanged, he told reporters on Friday in Mumbai.
The Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, assured Walkar earlier in the day that justice would be served. Walkar and family members were assured by Fadnavis, who holds the Home portfolio, that justice would be served.
When Walkar met his family, Kirit Somaiya, a senior BJP leader, accompanied him.
In Mehrauli in Delhi, Poonawalla (28) is accused of killing Shraddha (27) by cutting her body into 35 pieces.
The investigation being conducted by Delhi Police and Vasai Police is going well, according to him. However, he said the local police in Vasai and Tulinj in Nalasopara were lax in the early stages of the investigation.
We were assured that justice would be served by the Delhi Police. We were also assured of the same by Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister (Fadnavis).
All those involved in the incident, including Aftab’s family members, should be investigated, he demanded.
I opposed Shraddha and Aftab’s relationship. I was unaware that my daughter was facing domestic violence,’ he said.
The dating applications were also blamed by Walkar. He suggested monitoring dating apps.
