Dinesh Arora, a close aide of Manish Sisodia (in picture) and a defendant in a Delhi excise policy scandal, has decided to become an approver in the case.
Currently on anticipatory bail, Arora has been asked to be an approver in the case by the CBI. His bail plea was not opposed by the investigation agency.
“It was Arora’s responsibility to manage and divert undue pecuniary advantages collected from liquor licenses to public servants in collaboration with the other co-accusants. In addition to cooperating in the investigation, Arora was not a beneficiary of the alleged amounts received in connection with the commission of the alleged offences.
According to the source, some L-1 license holders are issuing credit notes to retail vendors with the ab-initio intention of diverting the funds to public servants as undue pecuniary advantages. To keep their records straight, they are also showing false entries in their accounts.
