Based on its investigations into the Television Rating Points (TRP) scam, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) claims that three private television channels have engaged in financial misappropriation and money laundering – ‘Fakht Marathi’, ‘Box Cinema’ and ‘Mahamovie’.
According to a charge sheet filed on September 26 before a Special PMLA court, the ED has targeted Shirish V Pattanshetty and Manish R. Singhal (Fakht Marathi) and their company Lotus Enterprises; and Narayan N Sharma (Box Cinema) and his company Box Cinemedia Pvt. Teleone Consumers Private Limited; Vishwajeet O Sharma and Darshan B Singh (Mahamovie).
According to the agency, the accused used the proceeds of the crime to profit personally by diverting or investing in other sectors.
