New Delhi, July 30 ( P2P News ) :

The northwest region, including parts of Himachal Pradesh (HP), Haryana, and Punjab, is anticipated to experience heavy rainfall in the upcoming week. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the region, indicating the likelihood of heavy rain on August 2 and 3. Following these two days, light to moderate rainfall is expected to continue over the subsequent two days.

Due to the heavy rain, there may be a risk of landslides and mudslides in Himachal Pradesh. Additionally, low-lying areas in Punjab and Haryana might face localized flooding. An official has warned about the possibility of the water levels rising in the Ghaggar and Yamuna rivers, which can contribute to flooding in the region.

Residents and authorities in these areas are advised to stay vigilant and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety during the expected heavy rainfall period. It’s crucial to monitor local news and updates from official weather agencies to stay informed about any changes in the weather situation and follow any instructions or guidelines issued by local authorities.
