Following Governor Banwari Lal Purohit’s rejection of the government’s move to appoint Gurpreet Singh Wander as vice chancellor of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot, Gurpreet Singh Wander resigned from the position.
It has been requested that the government send the governor three candidates for him to choose from.
He confirmed the move, saying his name had been withdrawn. In addition, he asked that the government do not include his name among the three candidates on the panel.
In addition to being the chief cardiologist at Hero DMC Heart Institute, a unit of DMCH, Dr Wander also serves as vice principal of Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana.
The appointment of Bhagwant Mann as BFUHS vice chancellor was announced via Twitter on September 30.
As a result of Dr Raj Bahadur’s resignation, the position of VC has been vacant for the past two months.
