Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, head of Dera Sacha Sauda in Sirsa, was released on 40-day parole from the Sunaria jail in Rohtak on October 15.

Before he returned to prison for the rape of his two disciples and the murder of a journalist, the dera chief released a video song titled “Chat pe Chat.”.

As online chatting and gaming have adverse health effects, the song warns people, especially youngsters, to avoid overindulging in them.

After his release on parole, the dera chief released a video message that courted controversy. The message he issued after reaching Barnawa ashram at Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh asked his disciples to follow the instructions of the responsible persons and not to act on their own.

As a result of massive gatherings, Dera management requested that dera followers refrain from rushing to the Barnawa ashram in response to the video message.

A 21-day furlough and regular parole were also granted to him this year, which raised many eyebrows.

According to the April 11, 2022, Haryana Good Conduct Prisoners (Temporary Release) Act, 2022, convicted prisoners can be granted regular parole in two parts for 10 weeks in a calendar year.
