Amritsar, July 23 ( P2P) : The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) is set to launch its own YouTube channel for live-streaming Gurbani kirtan (devotional music) from the Golden Temple. The launch is scheduled to take place at Gurdwara Manji Sahib Diwan Hall in the Golden Temple complex, with SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami leading the event.

To facilitate this endeavor, the SGPC has enlisted the assistance of a New Delhi-based firm, which has been hired to provide technical expertise and equipment for a monthly cost of Rs 12 lakh. The firm has already conducted an off-air trial, and it will further guide the SGPC in establishing its own satellite channel.

Until the SGPC’s satellite channel is fully operational, the responsibility of telecasting Gurbani kirtan will continue to be handled by G Next Media Private Limited, the company that owns PTC channels. This extension was requested as the previous 11-year agreement with G Next Media Private Limited was set to expire on July 23.
