A man was arrested by the Ahmedabad crime branch for duping a couple of Rs 15.04 lakh by promising them a work permit to Canada.
A complaint was filed by the father of the victim alleging that three other relatives were also defrauded of Rs 24.47 lakh.
Harshil Patel, 42, also known as Bunty, a resident of Sola Road, was arrested by the economic offences wing of the crime branch for defrauding about 100 visa applicants to the tune of Rs 5 crore. As a result of Harshil Patel’s questioning, he admitted that he operated a visa consultancy called Udan Holidays and lured customers with offers to cheat them.
