The police remand of AAP MLA from Bathinda (Rural) Amit Rattan Kotfatta, a suspect in the bribery case, was extended today by four days by a local court.

According to the court, Rattan was remanded in police custody for five days on February 23. On February 16, his close aide Resham Garg was arrested with Rs 4 lakh bribe. Police sought his remand to question him in the corruption case.

Prithpal Kumar, husband of Ghudda village sarpanch Seema Rani, alleged the MLA demanded a bribe of Rs 5 lakh from him in order to receive a development grant of Rs 25 lakh from BDPO, Sangat.

The Vigilance Bureau arrested MLA’s close aide Risham Garg at the Circuit House gate on February 16 after receiving a complaint from the husband of Ghudda village sarpanch. According to the complainant, the MLA told him to give Resham Garg Rs 4 lakh.
