Five years from now, Aakash Chopra is in favor of two editions of the IPL – It will 100% happen

Former Team India batter Aakash Chopra believes there will be two editions of the Indian Premier League (IPL). According to the veteran, the changes won’t happen now, and it will take at least five years for them to be measurable.

Cash-rich T20 tournaments have undergone many changes over the years. In addition to the Gujarat Titans (GT) and Lucknow Super Giants (GT), two new teams were added before the 2022 edition of the tournament.

During his playing days, Chopra played for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), and he expressed the hope that the BCCI will consider having two seasons of the IPL in the future.

“When you talk about it, it makes you feel as if two IPLs are necessary. It doesn’t matter whether two IPLs are necessary or not. Will it happen or won’t it happen? That is the big question,” Chopra was quoted as saying on his official YouTube channel.

“It will not happen now, it will not happen in this rights cycle, and it will not happen in the next five years, btake placewill happen in five years after that. It will 100% happen, there will be a big IPL with 94 matches, and a small IPL which will be over in a month, where all teams will once play each other,” he said.

In the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the Titans, led by Hardik Pandya, defeated the Rajasthan Royals (RR).
