As India celebrated the great festival of Durga Puja, some of its most magnificent pandals were on display. Uttar Pradesh’s capital will draw everyone with its 136-foot-tall puja pandal.
Guinness Book of World Records will feature the tallest Durga Puja pandal ever built in Jankipuram, Lucknow.
Currently under construction, the Chandrodaya temple of Vrindavan is expected to be one of the world’s highest religious structures with a height of over 700 feet and an area of 5,40,000 square feet.
The pandal is located in the center of Jankipuram’s Durga Puja Park. For the past 28 years, the Utsav Puja Committee has organized the Puja. Rakesh Pandey, General Secretary of the Durga Puja committee, highlighted the qualities of this tallest pandal by saying, “This entire pandal has been constructed by 52 artisans from Kolkata and Assam, and it took over one month to construct the tallest pandal.” A total of Rs 32 lakhs has been spent on making this tallest Durga Puja pandal.”
A total of 70 thousand devotees visit the pandal every day to pray to Durga Maa, said Rakesh Pandey. In this pandal, security arrangements have also been made, fire safety equipment has been kept in place, and 55 people around the entire pandal have been trained in using it. As well as this, Rakesh Pandey noted that the pandal was also protected by security guards.
According to the Guinness Book of World Records staff, the certificate should arrive in 4 to 5 days after the pandal was assessed. With a height of 125 feet, Kolkata held the record for the tallest pandal in the world until recently, when the Lucknow Durga Puja pandal surpassed it.
Many devotees from Lucknow expressed their excitement and said they had never seen a pandal of this magnitude before, and that it gives them great joy that the Lucknow Durga Puja pandal will be included in the Guinness Book of World Records. As high as a 14-storey building, the Durga Puja pandal will be certified by the Guinness Book of World Records.
