New Delhi: Delhi recorded 1,263 fresh COVID-19 cases on Sunday while the positivity rate rose to 9.35 percent, showed the data shared by the health department here.The daily count of coronavirus cases remained above the 1,000 mark for the fifth consecutive day, while the positivity rate in the city was above 5 per cent for the ninth day in a row.
According to official data, 1,891 cases were recorded in the city on June 26. In the last week, Covid cases have steadily increased.
The number of COVID-19 cases recorded in Delhi on Saturday was the highest in over a month, with an 8.39 per cent positivity rate, while three more people succumbed to the disease.
A total of 1,245 COVID-19 cases were recorded on Friday, with a positivity rate of 7.36 percent, and one death.

As of today, Delhi has 4,509 active cases, an increase over the previous day’s 4,230. Two thousand nine hundred and seventy-seven patients are in home isolation as a result of COVID-19. There were only 289 Coronavirus patients in Delhi hospitals on Sunday out of 9,402 reserved beds. There were vacant beds at Covid care centers and Covid health centers, according to the latest bulletin.
A total of 169 containment zones exist in the city at present, according to the report.
Omicron BA.4 and BA.5 sub-variants are highly transmissible, but experts have advised people not to panic as these sub-variants do not cause severe illness.
