On Tuesday, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare reported a decline in Coronavirus cases with 8,813 fresh infections reported in the last 24 hours compared to 14,917 a day earlier.

15,040 people recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 4,36,38,844.  Currently, 98.56 percent of patients are recovering.

Daily positivity rates in the country are 4.15 percent, while weekly positivity rates are 4.79 percent, according to the Health Ministry.

According to the Ministry, the country’s active caseload stands at 1,11,252 with a 0.25 percent active caseload.

Health Ministry officials also said that 2.12,129 Covid tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, out of 88.06 crore so far.

As part of the Nationwide Vaccination Drive, the Centre administered 208.31 crore total vaccine doses, including 93.80 crore Second Doses and 12.36 crore Precaution Doses.

6,10,863 doses have been administered in the last 24 hours.

The Government of India has been providing free COVID vaccines to the States and UTs as part of its nationwide vaccination drive. States and UTs will receive (free of charge) 75% of the vaccines produced by the vaccine manufacturers in the country as part of the universalization of COVID19 vaccinations.
