On Tuesday, police said two persons from Uttar Pradesh were arrested in connection with the murder of a woman in Bhiwandi town of Maharashtra’s Thane district.
Satyam Suresh Singh (24) and Avdesh Shyamsingh Shiaghar (35) were apprehended by the Narpoli police station on Monday, according to senior inspector Madan Ballal.
In the Valpada area of the town, a high-decomposed body of an unidentified woman in her 30s was found dumped in a drain on July 26, following which a murder case was filed.
According to the official, the police found that the victim had been living with Singh since July 1, and he had not reported to work since then.
As reported by the police, Singh beat up and harassed the victim after he came home from work drunk.
According to the official, Singh killed the woman with the help of four of his associates on July 1, dumped her body in a drain, and then fled the town.
Despite the arrest of two of the accused, the police are still searching for the other two.
