Anil Vij on Saturday lashed out at AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal, saying the Delhi chief minister wants only votes and has begun his “Make India No.1” campaign from Hisar in anticipation of the Adampur by-election.
As Vij told reporters on the sidelines of his weekly janata darbar at the PWD rest house here, he said, “He is a clever politician, but has nothing to do with making the country and its people number one. He only wants votes. The country has witnessed what is happening in Delhi and Punjab.”
From Haryana’s Hisar district, Kejriwal launched his party’s nationwide “Make India No. 1” campaign.
Also criticizing the Congress party and the “Bharat Jodo Yatra”, the minister said it “cannot think beyond the Gandhi family.”
“This is nothing new and happens every year. Leaders get together on stage for a day or two and then separate afterward.” Vij said of the possibility of a third front before the 2024 general elections.
There were 6,000 complaints heard at the janata darbar, according to Vij’s office.
A local woman claimed that her husband had been beaten by the police but no case was registered, and Vij ordered the police superintendent (SP) to probe and suspend police staff responsible.
