Each year, the Punjab Cabinet will recruit 1800 constables and 300 sub inspectors for the Punjab Police. Transparency will be maintained throughout the recruitment process.

Bhagwant Mann chaired a meeting that took the decision. With the current law and order situation in the state, it is essential to fill all vacancies in the state through annual recruitment. An RPG was used to attack a police station in Tarn Taran just two days ago.

The Council of Ministers has approved a schedule for this annual recruitment, Harpal Cheema told media after the Cabinet meeting. Each year, recruitment begins in January, with written exams taking place in May-June and physical tests taking place between September 15-30. Cheema said the recruitment process would take one year.

A number of NCC posts have been vacant in Punjab. We are filling 203 positions immediately. In the past five to six years, no recruitment has taken place,” said the Finance Minister. Additionally, 710 revenue patwari posts were to be filled by the Cabinet.

Furthermore, the Cabinet has approved the recovery of Rs 186 crore from anyone using irrigation water for other purposes. The deadline for submitting security deposits for crusher units in the state has also been extended.
