During a fight inside Jamia Millia Islamia University, a Jamia student was allegedly shot by a fellow student inside the Holy Family Hospital.

At 9 pm, a PCR call was received by the police reporting a fight inside the university’s library. After investigating, the police discovered two groups had clashed.

An injured student named Noman Chaudhary was transported to the hospital for treatment following the fight.

A member of the warring group, named Zalal, shot at another student with the same name outside the Emergency department of the hospital, where Noman was treated.

Another Nauman was injured to the scalp and has been sent to the AIIMS for treatment.

Among the nation’s top universities, Jamia is among the best. During the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) protests in 2020, it had been involved in a controversy due to the Delhi Police allegedly thrashing protesting students.
