The father of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala on Monday asked Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to order a high court judge to probe his son’s murder.
Balkaur Singh, Sidhu Moose Wala’s father, demanded that the Punjab government bring in both the CBI and the NIA for investigation.
He also demanded an apology from the police chief for linking his son’s murder to a gang war. In a letter to the Chief Minister, Singh pointed fingers at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government’s alleged incompetence.

”My mother wants to know where her son (Sidhu Moose Wala) is and when he will return. How do I respond to her?” said Singh in an emotional letter. “I hope justice will be done,” he added.
The CBI and the NIA should assist the Punjab government in the investigation, Mr Singh wrote in the letter.
Officers, who reviewed his son’s security and published the order to withdraw the security cover, must be held accountable, he demanded.
An attack on Sidhu Moose Wala, who was travelling in a Mahindra Thar SUV with his cousin and a friend, left him dead on Sunday in Punjab’s Mansa district.
On Sunday, the Punjab Police chief stated, “This incident appears to be the result of inter-gang rivalry,” adding that a Lawrence Bishnoi gang had committed the murder.
The state police removed two Punjab Police commandos from Moose Wala’s security cover on Sunday, leaving him with two commandos and his bullet-proof vehicle. However, Moose Wala did not take the remaining two commandos with him or his bullet-proof vehicle.
