A speeding car rams into a crowd of pedestrians in Banashankari, resulting in one death and three injuries

One person was killed and three were injured after a speeding car rammed into a group of pedestrians in the Banashankari area of Bengaluru.

As the driver carelessly approaches a footpath where pedestrians are walking, the visuals clearly show how the incident was captured on a nearby CCTV camera. The incident reportedly happened at around 7:20 am on Friday morning. The footage showed how a speeding car lost control of the wheels and mounted the pavement, knocking the pedestrians out.

In addition to being thrown into the air, one of them became trapped between two illegally parked cars.

The deceased victim has been identified as Rudrappa alias Suresh Kumar of Bellur village in Shivamogga district. Rudrappa was employed by a catering company and lived in a leased apartment with his colleagues. Rudrappa was walking with Sachin and Shivaraju to the bus stop near the Kattariguppe crossroads near Banashankari when the incident took place.

Mukesh J (28), a native of Chennahalli on the Magadi Road and an assistant filmmaker, was arrested as a result of the accident. Another student identified as Shylendra, who is in her final year of BSc studies at a private college, was also hit by the vehicle.

Mukesh’s friend Srinivas Thimmaiah was also in the car at the time of the accident. Police believe that Mukesh and Srinivas left the vehicle after the accident and drove all four victims to a nearby private hospital, where Rudrappa died. Police believe that Mukesh’s lack of sleep may have caused the accident, as he had been working on the movie set for two consecutive nights.
