Rajni Singh, 41, a graduate of Panjab University in Chandigarh, placed fourth in last week’s Miss Great Britain beauty contest.

Rajni Singh, the only Indian participant in the contest, is from Kapurthala in Punjab. After getting married in 2003, she moved to the UK. Her current position is part of the NHS Primary Care department.

Growing up, I was anxious and had low self-esteem. Once you get married, everything becomes your priority, except for you. Singh told The Indian Express over the phone that it was only through his fitness journey that he realized his true potential and value.

Two years ago, my health took a toll on my physical and mental well-being, putting me in the darkest phase of my life. Singh has a medical history of PCOS, sciatica, a herniated disc in the neck, vertigo, and anxiety.

Since 1945, Miss Great Britain has been held every year.
