With the covid pandemic easing out and teams being able to travel more frequently, the Indian Premier League will resume its home and away format next season.

In 2022, the IPL was played in Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad.

A new team, Gujarat Titans, and a new team, Lucknow Super Giants, both made a debut during the season. Despite being captained by KL Rahul, GT, led by Hardik Pandya, became champions.

It has been reported by The Times of India that BCCI president Sourav Ganguly wrote to state associations that the next season will also have a home-away format for all 10 teams.

A traditional home-away format will be used for all domestic multi-day tournaments, Ganguly stated in his letter. “There will be a return to the traditional home-away format for all multi-day tournaments. There will be knockout rounds after the group stage of all white-ball tournaments,” Ganguly said.

A different format was used for IPL, with 10 teams divided into two groups of five. According to the fixtures, each side would play 14 matches – as it did the previous season.
